He has worked in a variety of settings prior to this current career as a consultant in personal safety, such as a private investigator.

He described that one should strive to maintain realistic confidence, as well as to decrease fear.

Several of his points, for consideration, include:

Upon going outside, one should look all around. The bad guys try to appear as the good guys. Have a contingency plan. A spike in adrenaline, among other things, decreases peripheral vision, as well as coordination of fine motor skills.

A STRONG (consult with law-enforcement for recommendation) pepper spray, is much more effective than mace or teargas. When being grabbed, plant 1 foot on the ground and stomp the assailants foot as close to the ankle as possible.

Yell: “FIRE!” — O R — “HELP! I AM BEING ATTACKED! CALL 911!”

Run in a “zigzag“ path.

Do not let yourself be taken to a secondary crime situation; and your chances of survival plummet.

Tell the 911 person that in “ ASSAULT IN PROGRES! HELP!”
