MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO BUY FOOD PRODUCTS LOCALLY

By Monday, February 24, 2025
Main article image for story titled 'MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO BUY FOOD PRODUCTS LOCALLY'On February 20, 2024, Ellen Phillips, who is affiliated with governmental agencies regarding agriculture, presented a very interesting program about how virtually anybody who may go to some additional effort, can get foods that are grown raised/locally. One problem, is that often the large grocery Chains will include a huge region that they consider as “grown locally.” Apparently there were some potatoes that were labeled as “grown locally,” but or actually from Idaho!

There are indoor farmers markets for the cold weather, of at least three in the Chicago area. Please see the accompanying resource sheetthat Ellen passed out to us to supplement her presentation.

SIMPLY PLACE YOUR FINGERS TIPS - THAN SPREAD THEM APART on THE photo that I included, so that you can read the writing on it.

The program was excellent, summarizing the state of the art on the subject of purchasing products that are grown (and raised) locally, as per Ellen‘s 30 years of work
